SUWU restaurant opening: Feel the vibe

Just when I though my Wednesday night couldn't get any more basic, the opening of the SUWU restaurant on St-Laurent spiced up my evening. Its great wooden chalet atmosphere with an old school hiphop vibe didn't only catch my attention, it will definitely have me coming back. I actually forgot I was in Montreal for a couple of hours. The comfort soul food reminded me of California.
SUWU remodeled, remixed and made a major upgrade from the old Cafeteria.

Understand the vibe as you read the article: Listen to & download the SUWU mixtape vol.1 for FREE Here

***Look out for their mac and cheese grilled cheese!***

Cocktails such as Wu Tang were served. (Wu Tang: Sake, vodka, litchi, grapes and lime)

The cocktail list also had some very interesting names

Their classic beef tartar with dijon mayonnaise, beets and marinated onions was simply amazing. I loved the taste. I could seriously eat ten of those little hors d'oeuvres.

Then the cheeseburger empanadas came and my night couldn't have got any better.

[MUSIC] Top 5 playlist: February

My relationship with music is strange. Some of the songs I hate the most (i.e. 2 Chainz "I'm Different") I know by heart, but I only know the chorus to my favourite songs. It might be because I hate most commercial music yet, I hear it all the time so in conclusion, not only do I unconsciously learn them by heart, but I also lose a few brain cells while singing them.

Anyways.

These 5 songs are literally on REPEAT right now! By the way, the song by Daley is also on repeat but since I already talked about him, I will not include him in this article. See the songs after the break!

Track of the Day: Daley ft Marsha Ambrosius x Alone Together

Track of the day? Yes.
New song: No.
Addictive? Yes.

Although this British singer is only 23 years old, Daley is able to seduce us with his soulful voice. I haven't been in love with a new r'n'b song in awhile...This song kind of reminds me of the Remy Shand and Joe days, when the song "Take a Message"was on my iPod's Top 25 Most played. I really hope that Daley remains underground and authentic regardless of the fame. I'm just sayin. And I am absolutely in love with his style, his haircut and the thick glasses.

Track of the day : Poetic Justice - Kendrick Lamar ft Drake

Kendrick's good kid, m.A.A.d city is admirable.

Poetic Justice with Drake and Janet Jackson was probably my favourite pick. It has this smooth vibe to it. Although there is no video for it yet, you can't help but want to slow dance to this. It brings me back, waaaaaaay back, back into time.

New music: Solange - Losing You

I love the song. Solange is awesome.

I also love how although the video is beautiful, it has absolutely nothing to do with the lyrics. Lol.

What can I say about the swag! Comme mes amis Africains diraient....SAPOLOGIE!

Miguel's "Art Dealer Chic" triology

I cannot recall one moment where I have not loved Miguel's music. Ever since I heard his sexy voice on J Cole's "All I want is you", I fell in love with his talent.

He kind of reminds me of Prince: Different voice & style, rock mixed with r'n'b and pop, original collaborations, I am sold. And it has nothing to do with the fact that I used to have a crush on Prince when I was younger...

His latest mixtapes, Art Dealer Chic, volumes 1, 2 and 3 are available for FREE!!! Click here to get your free copies.

I have been obsessed with the song "Adorn" for the past two months and I like all of the other songs especially "All", "Gravity" and "Party Life". This dude needs to come to Montreal ASAP and do an intimate 30$ show at Metropolis before he blows up and ends up opening for like, Lady Gaga or Usher at the Bell Center for 100$ a ticket. I'm just sayin'...I hope a promoter read this

Check out the video for "Adorn" below.

What's up with me + Top 10 on my playlist right now: March 2012 edition

I'm back! Here's what I've been up to and below, my top 10 musical playlist of the moment.

-I think this is the nicest, warmest winter we've ever had in Montreal and I hope that I won't jinx it by saying that. Our winters usually have this apocalyptic and traumatizing feel to them, so it's nice to be able to wear suede boots.

-I don't wear my clip-in hair extensions anymore! Giving my hair a break and leaving it natural, in my signature high bun 90% of the time. Meh.

#HairInnaDiBun

-I can't wait to go to Washington D.C. next week. Should be fun! Can't wait to try the seafood.

-Actions speak MUCH louder than words. Talk is cheaper than a bad lace front wig.

-Didn't blog for over a month, but this doesn't mean I stopped cooking okay??

Making some vols-au-vent at the chalet
-Being 25 years old is not much different than when I was 24. Surprisingly.

-Since I've been using AVON products for the longest time (mostly because my mom is like, their biggest customer), I thought to myself: Why not sell it??? The products are very good and not expensive! So as of next week, you can contact me for orders! I will have my own page and will share the link here once I have it. In the meanwhile, check out their makeup/beauty products HERE.

-Wasn't in the best mood recently, but I'm feeling much better now and remaining positive. I have a feeling this year will be very good in terms of career and positive changes. My fortune said so too! HA!

-It is undeniable that I need to improve my baking skills. I need to get all the necessary tools to make the perfect cupcakes A.S.A.P! Putting the icing in a ziploc bag and attempting decorating cupcakes was a definite fail. Hey! At least

Look of the day: Natalia Kills in her video "Kill my boyfriend"

This out-of-the-ordinary 25 year old British singer/fashionista is not only a talented but she is extremely STYLISH...especially in her new video "Kill my Boyfriend".

The outfits, the makeup, the food, the setting, the poses, the hair (especially the bun)... I LLOVE LOVE LOVE all of the outfits in this video. It's all fashion! **Hands out multiple imaginary "outfit of the day" awards to the styling team of this video.** I barely listened to the lyrics (which are a little morbid, if you ask me. I wouldn't really wanna kill my boyfriend #imjustsayin), I simply STARED at each fashionable detail of the video...did you guys notice the turquoise nails? And the wallpaper? And the vintage-like black and white blazer? And....Okay. I'll stop.

Semi-creepy awesomemess. Check out the video below:
